300-word bio
Lucy Fleetwood, has a passion for Ayurveda, Soil, and sustenance, which grew out of her work in sustainability. She is a qualified Ayurvedic Consultant, Coach and Solution Focused Hypnotherapist living in the U.K., who supports people to develop a healthy life balance through food consumption and stress reduction.
Lucy has a keen interest in community food projects, she and her two sons — Harvey and Rowan — grew most of their food on two allotments and helped out at the local organic community gardens. After Harvey and Rowan made their way into the world, Lucy set out on a journey to discover her next chapter.
Influenced by the work of Vandana Shiva, Satish Kumar and Scilla Elworthy, Lucy decided to visit some sustainability projects. She returned to the U.K. after walking the Camino de Santiago where she reflected upon all she had learned, and discovered she had healed 15 years of digestive issues during the last stage of her journey, in just 3 months with an Ayurvedic approach.
On her return from what had become a three year journey, Lucy started to retrain in Ayurveda and hypnotherapy, set up a farmers market stall selling ‘kitchari’ — the Ayurvedic healing food that healed her digestive problems — and began writing ‘Your Peaceful Belly’, with the aims of helping people to heal their digestion as she had, and raising money for two causes close to her heart.
The latter was inspired during her travels by conversations about the gift economy. Lucy is gifting one third of the royalties from this book to support urban community food projects, and one third to support a charity she is involved with.
